I also can’t fail to mention the hilariously quick joke of Morgan’s eye twitch that got misconstrued as him winking at a patient. I’d love to see him throw a Chicago Fire party next.

#Mindy project halloween episodes tv#
I hope this running gag of Jody nervously relying on TV Guide covers to get him out of a jam continues the rest of the season. It’s her one-liners like that that always kill! Beverly pulled out a pipe to smoke in classic Beverly fashion. Who knew Jeremy was such a big Sherlock Holmes fan (or Sherley!) that he’d even show up in costume complete with a pipe? I swear we’ve seen him in that costume before, maybe a Halloween episode. Rounding out the episode was an Elementary viewing party at Jody’s apartment which started as a cover up to get his letter back from Mindy before she opened it. I couldn’t even admire Danny’s “make good decisions” comment to Mindy because I was honestly still so pissed at his fight with Jody. Apparently Danny may still work in the same building just a few floors down, but this is the first we’ve seen them interact in a while. The elevator scene with Danny and Mindy was the most awkward encounter. God help Danny if Mindy ever learns the truth of why Jody was suddenly scared off his coffee date idea with her. Even if I give Danny the benefit of the doubt and consider he’s not as happy as he’s thought to be, there’s no defending his comments. Whoever she chooses to spend her time with should be of no concern to Danny since he’s been parading women in and out of his apartment for at least six months since their official break up. Danny has zero right whatsoever to weigh in on any aspect of Mindy’s life that doesn’t involve Leo. Hence the fight where Danny actually said “who cares about what Mindy wants? This is about what I want!” First of all, ew. It is a shame Jody accidentally sent his letter to Mindy’s old address – aka Danny’s apartment. “My friend just reminded me the problem with people these days is that nobody asks for what they want.” So she asked J.J. Chelsea (Coupe) introduces Mindy to a few dating options ranging from a safer, older-skewed site to a hookup app called Pork It! Needless to say, the Pork It meeting was not what Mindy wanted although it did serendipitously introduce her to the charming bartender, J.J.Īfter her failed attempts at modern dating, Mindy relayed some wise advice from Chelsea as she talked herself into giving Jody a shot (more on him in a second!) and then ultimately ending up inviting J.J. The episode title “Mindy Lahiri is DTF” is self explanatory and definitely a touch more liberal now that the show is streaming and no longer on network television. Really though any excuse for a mini-Office reunion is a good one.

So many guest stars, including returning Eliza Coupe as Mindy’s neighbor-turned-friend, Kyle Bornheimer as Mindy’s (spoiler alert!) new casual hookup, and Paul Lieberstein as a desperately sad dating dud Mindy meets from a site. Let’s not allow Danny to ruin an otherwise super funny episode though. The passionate (read: angry) feelings evoked by his bursting into Jody’s office really only solidified the Danny haters’ opinions that he’s become a poor shell of the character we all once swooned over. That’s right, Danny Castellano returns to infuriate us all in this week’s new Mindy Project.
